Two thousand Kalis, three thousand Ashtamangalams, Eastern Palazhi Sea, Western Tiruvar Sea, Meloka, Patala, Vadakkanadi ,South Rivers, witnessing one thousand and one Kathirs and summoning Pitrikans, Asanas, family guardians and ancestors to remove the evils of the devotees.
The centuries-old belief remains that any heart’s desire will shine brightly like a ray of sun when it comes to the eternal Kavya of tamboola offerings(The major ritual is to offer ‘adukku’, comprising toddy, betel leaf and tender coconut), karikku(cocunut ) pateni (padayani from the Malayalam term for military formations – a ritual art.using tender coconuts – from three to 999 – is performed daily)and Pongala offerings(a sweet rice and jaggery-based offering).

The morning salutation is performed by awakening the nature by performing nature conservation pujas such as Bhumi Puja, Tree Protection Puja, Water Protection Puja, sea Puja and Bird animals Puja. The daily morning pujas will begin with monekeys feeding pujas and fish feeding pujas.
Hill charcoal is a special offering in Pateni Kavu(temple). Devotees offer Vratam notes for three days. The ancient ‘Kumbha paattu’ is another peculiarity of this temple, and is part of the rituals.
